About

Background

Usha Narasimhan was born on 10-06-1964 to Mr S V Sampath and Mrs Rajalakshmi Sampath in Shivana Samudra, Karnataka. Her father was an avid story teller and her childhood was spent listening to tales from the Arabian Nights, Ramayana and Mahabharatha. She attributes her creativity and imagination to her childhood filled with her father’s stories.

She started her primary education in Hassan and continued later on in Mysore and Tumkur.  Although she graduated as a science student, she always had a flair for art and literature and took up writing from early teenage in short spurts.  She married into a farming family from Holenarasipura Taluk in Karnataka to Mr Anantha Narasimhan in 1985 and lived the farm live until 1993. They migrated to Mysore city for access to better schools for their two daughters and have lived there ever since.

After moving to Mysore, she took up businesses along with her husband for sustenance and balanced life as a homemaker. She has a large closely knit and supporting family and an even larger network of friends, all of whom will vouch for her hospitality and generosity with her time. She continued writing in the little time she could spare and has only taken up writing full time since 2010 after her daughters moved on in life.

She published her first book in 2008 and has not stopped writing since then.
